Tua Tagovailoa limited as Cooper Rush takes first-team reps
Atlanta has not confirmed a change at starter after Tagovailoa appeared to aggravate an oblique injury Thursday.

Tua Tagovailoa was limited in Atlanta's Thursday practice with an oblique injury, leaving the Falcons with another quarterback question before their opener at Pittsburgh.
NFL.com's Nick Shook reported that Tagovailoa appeared to aggravate the injury during the session. Cooper Rush told reporters he took all of the first-team repetitions. That gives Rush preparation with the starters; it does not establish that Atlanta has named him Sunday's starter.
Michael Penix Jr. has already been ruled out for Week 1 as he continues his recovery from a knee injury, according to the report. The Falcons had planned to turn to Tagovailoa, but his Thursday participation leaves that plan unsettled.

For RSO managers, the immediate distinction is availability versus opportunity. Rush's practice work makes him worth monitoring where starting quarterbacks are scarce. Tagovailoa's limited designation is not a declaration that he will miss the game, and a practice report alone is a poor basis for treating either player as a confirmed starter.
Check Atlanta's next injury report and its announced starter before making lineup decisions. Penix's absence and Tagovailoa's health are separate issues; improvement in one does not resolve the other.
