  • The 49ers are monitoring Mike Evans, Trent Williams and Dre Greenlaw before Sunday's home game against Denver, with Kyle Shanahan saying their injuries are not expected to cause long absences.

Evans has a rib injury, Williams is recovering from a shoulder and neck stinger, and Greenlaw has a bruised quad. All three left San Francisco's 36-30 win over Arizona. The team's Tuesday update said Evans would be evaluated through the week, Williams was expected to be ready by Thursday and Greenlaw's workload would be managed.

The Athletic's Matt Barrows relayed Shanahan's assessment Monday:

  • The outlook leaves their Week 4 availability open. ESPN's Nick Wagoner reported that Evans went out in the second quarter and was ruled out for the remainder of the game at halftime. Williams left in the third quarter, returned to the sideline and watched Vederian Lowe finish at left tackle. Greenlaw tried to return for a play before the team shut him down.

Those are three separate decisions for the week ahead. Evans is dealing with a rib issue after his practice workload was managed for a hip injury last week. Williams's progress will affect the protection in front of Brock Purdy, while Greenlaw's recovery affects the defensive lineup. The favorable initial assessment still requires the players to progress through the week.

There is also a difference between returning to practice and becoming available for a game on the defensive line. San Francisco plans to open Mykel Williams's practice window Wednesday, but Wagoner reported that he cannot play until Week 5 because he began training camp on the physically unable to perform list. Williams is returning from a torn right ACL.

  • Rookie defensive lineman Romello Height is expected to practice this week after surgery on his broken hand. Nick Bosa and James Thompson Jr. will miss the Denver game, according to the team's update.

San Francisco takes a 3-0 record into the finale of its three-game homestand against Denver. For fantasy managers evaluating Evans and the 49ers' offense, practice participation and the final game-status report remain the next useful checks.
