Week 5 waivers: Coleman, Meyers and Gesicki require different bids

Buffalo and Cincinnati offer injury-driven opportunities. RSO managers need to price the immediate role and the uncertainty around returning receivers.

  • Keon Coleman, Dohnte Meyers and Mike Gesicki belong on the Week 5 waiver watchlist wherever they are available. Their Sunday production gives managers something to act on, but the size of an RSO commitment depends on how long the openings in their offenses last.

NFL.com's Matt Okada and Yahoo's Justin Boone both included Coleman and Gesicki in Monday's waiver recommendations, with Meyers also drawing attention after Cincinnati lost Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins during its game. Those columns use their own platforms' roster rates and bidding assumptions. Check your league's available players and remaining cap room before choosing a bid.

    Coleman has earned another look

Coleman caught six of seven targets for 116 yards and a touchdown against New England. The NFL game log confirms the receiving line, and Buffalo's official highlight shows his 34-yard scoring catch. Okada reports that DJ Moore aggravated his shoulder injury; Boone also ties Coleman's opportunity to Moore's availability.

  • There is a second useful data point: Coleman caught six passes for 63 yards in Week 2. Still, two productive games do not establish a weekly starting role. For an RSO manager short at receiver, a bid can buy immediate depth while preserving room for another injury replacement. Someone considering a longer commitment should wait for evidence that the routes and targets survive Moore's return.

Cincinnati offers two different roster repairs

Meyers caught seven of nine targets for 82 yards against Jacksonville. Cincinnati's own postgame reporting confirms the catches and yardage and describes Meyers and Mitch Tinsley moving among all three receiver positions. That versatility gives Meyers a plausible route to work if Chase or Higgins misses time. Their Week 5 availability still needs confirmation.

Meyers arrived after a 1,000-yard CFL season. The league's September 3, 2026 upload below shows his 2025 Saskatchewan highlights, useful background on the player rather than footage of Sunday's NFL game.

  • Gesicki caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown Sunday, his third scoring catch in four games. The Bengals also reported that he played Higgins' spot on the final drive. That makes him worth examining for managers who need a tight end now, particularly if Cincinnati remains short at receiver.

Evaluate those needs separately. A roster missing a starting receiver may justify prioritizing Meyers; a team scrambling at tight end has a clearer use for Gesicki. Set the price around the role you need to fill and the alternatives available in your league. Neither Sunday's box score nor Monday's waiver ranking settles how much playing time remains once Cincinnati's receivers recover.
