The Giants ended Odell Beckham Jr.'s second stint with the team Tuesday, releasing the veteran receiver and signing Braxton Berrios and Charlie Jones from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Beckham finished his three-game return with 19 snaps, one target and no catches, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reported.
The change came as New York had to make a roster decision on Berrios, its punt returner. He had exhausted his practice-squad elevations, according to Raanan. Signing him to the active roster keeps that return option available without another temporary promotion.
Jones also moves onto the roster. The Giants placed outside linebacker Brian Burns on injured reserve in the same Tuesday transaction announcement, creating another opening after Burns suffered a torn ACL against Tennessee. The receiver additions are confirmed; their offensive snap shares for Sunday's game against Arizona have not been announced.

Giants' release of Beckham
Read source ↗ Beckham, 33, had returned to the team that drafted him in 2014 after sitting out the 2025 NFL season. He made the initial 53-man roster as the fifth receiver, Raanan reported, but the available playing time never developed into production. Against Tennessee on Sunday, he played six snaps and drew his only target of the season from Jameis Winston.
New York is not expected to bring Beckham back to its practice squad at this point, a source told ESPN. That is a reported expectation, separate from the completed release. There is no confirmed next team for the three-time Pro Bowler.
For the Giants' receiver room, Tuesday's practical change is a different pair of active depth options and a roster place for the punt returner. Berrios and Jones moving up does not establish either as a new primary target. New York's next game is against Arizona, with Winston still the current starter following the separate acquisition of J.J. McCarthy.
