The Chargers elevated tight end Patrick Herbert and outside linebacker Caleb Murphy from the practice squad Saturday for Sunday's game at Seattle. Both players were also elevated last week at Buffalo, giving Los Angeles continuity among its additional game-day options as it travels north.

Herbert made his NFL debut in the Buffalo game. He joined the Chargers' practice squad at the beginning of September after spending his rookie season and the 2026 offseason with Jacksonville. He had been elevated for the Jaguars' Week 18 game last season but was inactive, so his first appearance came with Los Angeles last week.

  • Herbert is the younger brother of Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. The tight end played three seasons at Oregon, recording 31 receptions for 388 yards and four touchdowns in 25 games. His Saturday elevation makes him available for a second consecutive week; it does not announce a new starting assignment.

Murphy also made his 2026 Chargers debut against Buffalo. The team's announcement lists the outside linebacker with 20 career appearances across Tennessee, Los Angeles and New England, nine defensive tackles, a half-sack and a quarterback hit. His special-teams experience includes 10 career tackles in that phase.

The Associated Press independently confirmed both elevations and their appearances last week. The completed transactions add a tight end and an outside linebacker for Sunday while preserving the availability decisions carried on the Chargers' final injury report. Neither elevation changes the existing questionable designations or establishes a return for an injured player.

  • Los Angeles enters the Seattle trip with the two practice-squad additions confirmed. The earlier final injury-report details remain below, including the unresolved receiver and defensive-back decisions ahead of the Sunday active list.

  • Earlier reporting retained; Saturday status above supersedes earlier availability

Ladd McConkey is questionable for the Chargers' Sunday trip to Seattle after returning to a limited Friday practice with a foot injury. Los Angeles also lists Derwin James, Elijah Molden, Trey Lance and Donte Jackson as questionable, while four other players have been ruled out.

McConkey was limited Wednesday, missed Thursday's practice and returned Friday. The final designation leaves his availability unsettled after that completed session. The Chargers will have to make the receiver's game-day decision before their 4:25 p.m. Eastern kickoff.

The foot injury comes as Los Angeles seeks its first win of the season. Independent Thursday reporting from the Associated Press says McConkey leads the Chargers with 12 receptions for 183 yards and a touchdown through three games.

Brenen Thompson is out with a quadriceps injury, removing another receiver from the available game-day group. Tight end Charlie Kolar is also out with a forearm injury. The Chargers say Kolar was limited Friday after having surgery on the forearm last Monday. His return to some practice work has not cleared him for Sunday's game.

Left guard Kayode Awosika is out with a fibula injury, and defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson is out with a hamstring injury. The official report gives Los Angeles confirmed absences at four positions before it settles the questionable group.

James and Molden carry hamstring injuries, Lance has a groin injury, and Jackson remains listed with a concussion. Jackson practiced fully Friday, while the other four questionable players were limited. Keaton Mitchell, Khalil Mack, Bud Dupree and Justin Eboigbe have no game designations.

RSO managers with McConkey have an afternoon decision pending. A substitute who plays in the same window or later preserves an option if Los Angeles rules him inactive. The final report has not named a replacement starter or announced how the Chargers would divide receiver targets if he cannot play.

The Chargers and Seahawks meet Sunday, October 4, at Lumen Field. McConkey's Friday practice is an improvement from Thursday's absence, but the final report keeps him questionable.
