  • Seattle signed safety Rodney Thomas II to its 53-man roster Wednesday and placed guard Anthony Bradford on injured reserve in the corresponding move. The paired transactions turn a short-term secondary solution into a roster commitment while creating a longer absence on the offensive line.

  • Thomas had been elevated from the practice squad for both of Seattle’s first two games. With Ty Okada sidelined by a hamstring injury, Thomas started at safety, played every defensive snap in Week 2 and 70 of 71 in Week 1, according to the Seahawks. He has four tackles and two passes defensed. One breakup led to a Nehemiah Pritchett interception against New England. Coach Mike Macdonald said Thomas had played at a high level, giving the club a reason to retain him on the active roster rather than continue weekly elevations.

  • Bradford’s move has a different effect. He started every game last season and opened 2026 as Seattle’s right guard. Knee and hip injuries kept him out of the Week 2 win over Arizona. Christian Haynes started in his place, and rookie Beau Stephens also played at right guard, taking 27 snaps to Haynes’ 43. Injured reserve means Bradford will miss at least four games; Seattle has not supplied a return date in the transaction announcement.

  • The team also signed guard Uso Seumalo to the practice squad and receiver Malick Meiga to a practice-squad exempt spot with commissioner permission. Those additions provide depth, but the club has not named a permanent right-guard starter for Sunday’s visit to Washington.

The two main roster moves solve separate problems. Thomas gets a regular active place after heavy defensive usage. Bradford’s injured-reserve designation opens that place but removes an established lineman for multiple games. Okada did not practice Wednesday, according to the team’s first Week 3 injury report. Seattle’s next practice reports will show how the guard rotation and Okada’s recovery are developing before Week 3.
