Saturday’s groin-injury downgrade leaves Indianapolis without Allen and Alec Pierce against Washington.

Indianapolis ruled Keenan Allen out Saturday with a groin injury, removing another veteran receiver from its passing game ahead of Sunday’s matchup with Washington in London. The Colts also elevated Nick Westbrook-Ikhine from the practice squad for the game.
The change closes the question left open Friday, when Allen was listed as questionable after missing practice. Indianapolis added an October 3 update to its official availability report and announced the downgrade on its team account.
Allen has caught 13 passes on 20 targets for 100 yards and a touchdown through three games. He scored his first touchdown as a Colt in last week’s 19–17 win over Houston. His absence comes with Alec Pierce already on injured reserve because of a heel injury, leaving Indianapolis to work through another week with a reduced receiving group.

Westbrook-Ikhine is familiar with the assignment. The Colts elevated him for the Houston game as well, and he played. Saturday’s move makes him available again for the Washington matchup; it does not assign him a starting role. Indianapolis says he has played in 94 career games, including 42 starts, with the Colts, Dolphins and Titans, totaling 137 catches for 1,862 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Ashton Dulin remains a separate availability question. He was listed as questionable with an ankle injury in Friday’s report, despite returning to full participation Thursday. Allen’s downgrade does not resolve Dulin’s status. The Colts’ receiver options also include Josh Downs, Laquon Treadwell, Anthony Gould, Deion Burks and Darius Slayton.
For fantasy lineups, Allen’s designation is now a firm absence for this game. Westbrook-Ikhine’s elevation adds another available receiver, while the distribution of targets remains unsettled. Managers considering Indianapolis alternatives still need to check Dulin’s final status before the early kickoff.
The Colts visit the Commanders at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, October 4, with kickoff scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Eastern.
