Hufanga's two interceptions lift Broncos past Rams after 16-point comeback

The Rams led by 16 at halftime and went back ahead with 3:38 left. Neither lead held. Talanoa Hufanga returned a Matthew Stafford interception 66 yards for a fourth-quarter touchdown, then picked him off in the end zone on Los Angeles' final play as Denver won 30-26 on Sunday night. Between those interceptions, Bo Nix drove the Broncos to the winning score with a one-yard run and 47 seconds left.

Los Angeles had controlled the first half without putting Denver out of reach. Stafford found Tyler Higbee for a five-yard touchdown, and Harrison Mevis kicked three field goals for a 16-0 lead. The Rams' own game report said they outgained Denver 273-67 before halftime. That gap made the second-half reversal sharper: Denver scored two touchdowns and converted two two-point tries in the third quarter, with Nix finding Pat Bryant and Nate Adkins to tie it at 16.

Mevis' fourth field goal, from 48 yards, restored a 19-16 Rams lead midway through the fourth. Hufanga then jumped a Stafford pass and ran it back 66 yards to put the Broncos ahead for the first time. The NFL's game clip captures the pick-six that turned a three-point deficit into a four-point lead.

Stafford answered immediately, connecting with Konata Mumpfield for a 48-yard touchdown and a 26-23 lead. Denver's response required more than one explosive play. A holding penalty left the Broncos facing second-and-20, but Nix hit Bryant for 39 yards; the NFL posted that gain from the decisive drive. Nix later crossed from a yard out to finish it.

The Rams still reached the Denver 14 with less than a minute remaining. A false start moved them back, and Hufanga intercepted Stafford's end-zone throw to close the game. His two interceptions and the pick-six were the difference in a night when Los Angeles generated 390 Stafford passing yards but could not protect either late lead.

Stafford finished 30 of 55 for 390 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Davante Adams caught seven passes for 137 yards while Mumpfield added four for 93 and a score. Nix went 17 of 34 for 186 yards, two passing scores and an interception, plus the winning rushing touchdown. Denver is 2-1; Los Angeles is 1-2. The Rams played without receiver Puka Nacua, who was inactive with a hip injury. The club also reported that tight end Terrance Ferguson left after aggravating an ankle injury and cornerback Jaylen Watson was ruled out with a shoulder injury. Their status for the next game needs an updated team report, rather than an assumption from Sunday's exits.

For fantasy and roster decisions, the target distribution is the actionable part of the Rams' night: Adams drew 13 targets, Higbee 11 and Mumpfield eight with Nacua inactive. Their production is real, but Sunday's usage alone does not establish a new pecking order. The Rams' next injury report will clarify whether Nacua and the players who exited are available before managers treat this as a lasting change.
